Description |
The Port Master Plan includes allow securing the port, through the construction of the main breakwater and moor facility for ferries, the secondary breakwater and the signalling lights at the port entry.
The project idea is create a fully usable platform, which can be used for the mooring of ships and ferries, passengers and vehicles embarking/disembarking, but is also a place for panoramic walks overlooking the sea and the Sicilian coast.
For this reason, the project envisages a walkway on the sea-side, connected to a curved shelter made of white concrete, in order to create a pedestrian promenade with squares from which it is possible, through stairways, to reach the dock.
Below the curved shelter, the project provides for indoors and outdoors dining tables.
The platform has therefore a dual function, to defend the harbour from rough seas and to provide a pleasant walking path; transit below the cover is possible in all sea conditions.
In addition to the sea-side facilities, the project provides for the reorganisation of the road network around the town of Favignana, with the creation of a bypass that allows to relieve the city center from traffic congestion. |
